When we first bought our condo, the kitchen was a sore point. Dark and old, I felt like I was cooking in a cave; and no matter how I cleaned it would always looked dirty. Its existence was a constant insult to Robert, whose architectural pride was shamed whenever he looked at it.
Well, no more. Robert decided he had had enough and...destroyed it. Then, the nonstop construction of bringing Robert's design to fruition brought both of us to the brink of melt downs.
But there is a happy ending. The kitchen is now done and it is beautiful. Robert worked really hard, so please compliment it profusely!

Wow! What a difference! Your new kitchen looks BEAUTIFUL!!
We just bought our first home a few months ago and the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired (70s cabinets, dark wood, a linoleum floor that is in terrific shape but is hideous), so I understand how you felt about yours. But your new kitchen is absolutely fablous! Bravo, Robert! That gives me hope for ours. Thank you!
gorgeous.... I can't wait to come for tea..
Congratulations! Finally you can have meals at home again. Robert did a great job--sure has evolved from the first ideas you had, but the same beautiful, bright, snazzy effect! :) Can't want to come over and cook up a storm. j/k. (How about dessert??)
I have to admit that when I heard about the kitchen project it seemed more of a nuisance than anything else....with all the travelling you were doing coming home to a destroyed kitchen sounded so stressful!
BUT I WAS WRONG. The results are worth it! It is beautiful! I love the sense of light and space and order -- and the mixture of coolness (in all senses of the word) and warmth -- it's inviting as well as orderly and elegant ...I love the whites and the glass and the shining pale floor that capture and reflect LIGHT and brilliant splash of vivid -- orange? red? it's nor really either, just a brilliant warm color that reminds me of both you and Robert. I LOVE IT!
Robert, if I ever manage to make any money I will BEG you to design a house for me -- and I still wish you would make modular houses for people. Imagine people being able to put kitchens (and other rooms!) this beautiful wherever they wanted them: and if they were in modular houses, they could buy land in cheap places -- like the Ozarks or Thailand -- and live in modern, resources-conserving (because of course you would make the modular houses solar etc.) beauty.
Wow! That's gorgeous! Congratulations to both of you, enjoy it!
Best,
Nicole
It's so purty. Worth waiting for. Can't wait to see it in person!
nice! good work, robert!!!
