little rabbit forever lost

Harry Horse, the author and illustrator of the "Little Rabbit" books has died, apparently due to a suicide pact with his wife. Mandy, suffered from MS and was confined to a wheelchair at the age of 39. More about it here.

This story really struck me. I hope they found the peace they wanted with death.

First time on your blog. Touching story about the author and his wife..

On a slightly different note, my daughter loves your book "The Ugly Vegetables" - a neat picture book. Will definitely recommend the book and provide a link to your work on my multi-cultural children's book blog..

We look forward to reading more of your books, and discover more about Lizzy...

Thanks!

Grace,

Being a caregiver is the hardest thing of all.

It must be incredibly difficult to be creative during such a stressful time.

I can tell you're much stronger than you think you are.

Make yourself another batch of cupcakes and enjoy them.

It is truly difficult to be in a relationship where one spouse is a caregiver and the other spouse is disabled--there are so much complexity to the layers of emotions for both spouses. I cannot imagine the desperate hopelessness and intense commitment to each other that they could not fight for the hope of the one good day. I wish them the peace they were searching for.
